Amateur Contact Log 4.4 is Now Available!

Home News

Hi All,

Amateur Contact Log 4.4 is Now Available!

Amateur Contact Log 4.4 includes the addition of a Net and Round Table Manager Form! Whether you are just participating in a casual round table or running a net, this form is designed to more comfortably log where multiple stations are participating.

My old VB6 Net Manager / Round Table software was one of the many programs on the rewrite list. While there are always tradeoffs, the more I thought about it, the more sensible it seemed to integrate it into Amateur Contact Log. That way, we can utilize the Call Book lookup features, fill fields configuration options, have direct access to our master database, etc. So, this new function in AC log replaces the old, VB6 version of Net Manager and is one more program I can check off the C#.NET rewrite list!

To use the Net and Round Table manager function in AC Log, just click Net from the main menu options to bring it up. You'll find a help button near the upper right with a few more of the basics.

I know all nets are different and this implementation may not fit everyone's needs, but I participate in 3 regular nets (15 Meter Water Cooler on 21.446, 10 Meter local net and a 2 Meter local net) and I think this will work out well for all three. It is designed to be useful, whether you are running a net, or you are just a casual participant.

As always, upgrades are free to registered users. Please carefully read the upgrade instructions here:

I'd like to especially thank my son Chris, KB3KCN, who is a gifted programmer and was a tremendous help in getting this form up and running. Not only did Chris do a super job, it is a wonderful blessing to be able to have fun and share in projects like these together!

Enjoy!

Are We There Yet?

The C#.NET rewrites for Amateur Contact Log and all the major ARRL and CQ contesting programs are already complete! I've got about 25 programs to go, mostly state QSO parties, so if I can maintain a pace of a program about every two weeks, I should be able to finish up in about a year. Hopefully, by the end of 2014, Lord willing, I'll have completed all the contesting rewrites! I can't promise, but that's the goal right now and I'll keep you updated on my progress in future announcements.

And in response to the questions we always receive when we neglect to include the following in our e-mail announcements...

Donations are Gratefully Accepted!

And in response to the often asked question for which Kimberly and I are very grateful...

"I know your upgrades are free, but I also realize how much time and effort coding these enhancements and new programs take and that your pricing policy doesn't fully reflect that. Can I send you something to show my appreciation for your continued efforts?"

Yes, thanks so much, your continued support in any amount is very welcome and deeply appreciated! You can use this page:
