ARRL RTTY Roundup 3.5, VHF 6.2 Now Available and Sweepstakes SSB Reminder!
Hi All,
ARRL RTTY Roundup 3.5 and VHF Contest Log 6.2 are Now Available!
In response to ARRL's request for the ability to separate RTTY from other digital modes on the Cabrillo submittal file, I have updated these two programs accordingly. With these new versions, RTTY will continue to display as RY, while other digital modes will be designated DG on the Cabrillo file.
When you select the digital mode option in my software, RTTY is the default. Since most of us are setting our rigs to SSB and using sound card interfaces for digital, there isn't a way to determine via rig interface which specific digital mode you are using. Some digital programs that interface with my software, such as JT Alert, will transfer the specific mode, but if you are using a digital program that doesn't, when you operate a digital mode other than RTTY, you must remember to manually enter the digital mode from the menu option, or by pressing Ctrl + Shift + M. You will also have to remember to manually disable the mode override when you switch back to RTTY. In the heat of the contest, don't forget!
As always, upgrades are free to registered users! You will find the ARRL RTTY Roundup Contest Log software here.
And the VHF Contest Log here.
Please be sure to follow these upgrade steps.
ARRL November Sweepstakes SSB This Weekend!
Very few of us can leap tall buildings in a single bound, but with luck and perseverance, we might just work all 83 US & Canadian Sections in a single weekend for a Clean Sweep, which is nearly as satisfying!
Working a clean sweep is a challenge, but it's definitely possible, even if you have a modest station. I've done it a number of times with just 100 watts and dipoles.
November Sweepstakes SSB begins 2100 UTC Saturday (4:00 PM EST) and runs through 0259 UTC Monday (10:00 PM Sunday EST). Whether your goal is to focus on the sweep, or you are going for lots of points, November Sweepstakes is one of the most enjoyable contests out there! Work all 83 sections for a clean sweep and you will do the happy dance (you can't help yourself!) and earn the right to an ARRL clean sweep mug! But even if you just make 100 Qs, whether you complete the sweep or not, you can receive a participation pin from ARRL.
Even if you don't consider yourself a contester, you will likely enjoy the challenge of working the sweep, so please get on this weekend, make some Qs and no matter how many you wind up with, please be sure to submit your log!
Complete rules are here.
And the contest software is here.
I hope to work you! Good luck and enjoy sweepstakes!!!!
Invite a Friend to Sweepstakes SSB This Weekend!
Along with Field Day, November Sweepstakes is one of the best contests to invite a friend over for a cup of coffee and a taste of Amateur Radio. What a great opportunity to demonstrate the excitement of attempting to work all 83 US and Canadian sections in a single weekend! Let your buddy hear first hand the sounds of signals from across the content and experience the thrill of finding those needed sections! You may just bring a new ham into the fold and, Lord willing, have years of fun sharing our great hobby together ahead!

And in response to the often asked question for which Kimberly and I are very grateful...
"I know your upgrades are free, but I also realize how much time and effort coding these enhancements and new programs take and that your pricing policy doesn't fully reflect that. Can I send you something to show my appreciation for your continued efforts?"
Yes, thanks so much, your continued support in any amount is very welcome and deeply appreciated! You can use this page:
