N3FJP Software Help Information
(System Example Shown - MS Windows Win 7)
Edit Menu Options
This Help page lists the Edit Menu Options for Amateur Contact Log.
Edit > Mark Selected Records as QSL Sent/Received
Selecting Edit > Mark Selected Records as QSL Sent/Received as shown in the graphic below allows you to mark a batch of records as QSL Sent or Received according to the option you choose.
First, select the records you would like to mark by holding Ctrl or Shift and clicking with your mouse using the standard Windows method for highlighting/selecting and choose the records from within your listed contacts on the Main form. Pressing and holding Ctrl while clicking on records allows you to choose non-consecutive records and holding the Shift allows you to choose blocks of records together.
After you have highlighted the records you wish to mark, click either "Sent" or "Received" from this Edit menu option. The form in the graphic below will appear, and you can mark the records with a code. The typical codes are C = Card, L = LoTW and E = eQSL.
Edit > Fill Fields Determined by Call
Selecting Edit > Fill Fields Determined by Call as shown in the graphic below will review the QSO records that you specify and add any information that can be determined by the call sign, such as country, prefix, etc. There are three options for this function: Whole Log, From Rec# to Rec# and Selected Records. In addition, if you are using callbook lookup, additional information such as the name, state, etc., will be added.
Choosing any of the three options will produce the form as seen in the first graphic below providing information for the Fill Fields function and allowing you to proceed by clicking OK or exit the function by clicking Cancel. Choosing the option From Rec# to Rec# will produce the form as seen in the second graphic below. Before choosing the third option, Selected Records, you must first select the records to use this function on, or a small form stating that you must select records first will appear.
Since this function may be run repeatedly, addresses will only be added to the Comments Field if this field is blank and Callbook > Place Retrieved Address in Comments Field is checked. Please note that when printing addresses, the address is pulled directly from the callbook lookup data source, not from the Comments Field in the QSO record.
Edit > Copy Current List to Clipboard
Selecting Edit > Copy Current List to Clipboard as shown in the graphic below allows you to copy the items that you have currently listed to your Windows clipboard. The data will paste nicely in most spreadsheets such as Microsoft Excel. This is a great way to sort, customize, analyze and print your data. From your spreadsheet software, just click Edit > Paste.
Edit > Copy Selected Records to Clipboard
Selecting Edit > Copy Selected Records to Clipboard will perform the same function as clicking Edit > Copy List to Clipboard above, except that you can select the records you would like to copy to your Windows clipboard by holding Ctrl or Shift and clicking with your mouse.
After selecting either of these copy functions, you will see the form in the graphic below allowing you to proceed with pasting the copied data into your preferred spreadsheet program.
